Why is that we celebrate Black History Month? Why is that things are closed down for Martin Luther King Day? Yes, he did do very good things for our country. Yes he did also make is to where black rights were put out there. I do believe he did do a lot of good. But there also are a lot of other cultures that have also done important things in our country. Don’t you agree? There are twelve moths in a year. If February is Black History Month, why aren’t the other 11 months left to celebrate White History Month, Japanese History Month or Indian History Month (although that might be considered the month of November for Thanksgiving)? What about Cowboy Month, Chinese Month or Filipino Month? There are a lot of races here and it has been a constant.
We have state colleges and community colleges, and then we have black universities. Why do they get a college? If they are here in this country, aren’t they American citizens like everyone one else here? I hear so many times on the news in public that blacks feel that when they do not get a job it is discrimination against them because they are black. I do agree that many years ago they had a very rough life. But that was then; this is now. Leave the past in the past. Last year, for the Super Bowl, it was a big deal about how both teams that went to the super bowl was lead by black coaches and this was a new turning point in history. Now we have a black candidate for president. Why do we need to address when someone black does something? Why should that matter? We are supposed to be equal so we need to stop pointing out our races. You notice that we only really hear about a culture when it comes to blacks. Well that was wrong we also do hear about the immigrants that come here to but even they do not really get as much attention. Unless of course we start talking about homeland security or the borders. I apologize for anyone that may be offended by this but I at the same time do not agree with one race getting their own month. There has been many people of other races that has made history in the USA.
